Polaris Music Prize: The Short List

The much-anticipated Polaris Music Prize Short List has just been announced. From a long list of 40 to a short list of 10, the nominees (in alphabetical order) demonstrate repeat nominations and a music career that flourishes from growing, evolving, and building on past albums.

The Polaris Music Prize boast a couple of firsts: “For the first time in Polaris history there are repeat nominees on the Short List. K’NAAN, Malajube and Metric also made the cut in 2006, and Plaskett, VanGaalen and Patrick Watson made it in 2007. In another first, there are no debut albums on the Short List.”
